Prime Your Prospects Before The Call

I would argue that 75% of the sale is done before the call. It may be even more. When you’re selling very high-ticket, it seems as though prospects have their mind made up well before they talk to you.

This is because they likely scanned your marketing assets, LinkedIn profile, company reviews, Instagram, Facebook, and newsletter content before they talked to you. Even more, they went through the experience of booking a call or becoming a lead in the first place.

This is why you need to be very careful with the content you use to prime your prospects. How are they finding your brand? What do your website and social platforms communicate? What do your outbound prospecting and paid ads say about you?

Use Long-Form Content As A Thesis

A great way to get prospects moving faster through the sales cycle is by leveraging a thesis. This can be a document, video, or pitch deck that boils down your philosophy, process, and core concepts into one place.

Send this to them before getting on a call so they are ready to go before you ever sell. You can send this to them via a newsletter, organic content, or an appointment setter/assistant on your team. Here’s an example of a marketing asset for my company. 📰 

Process Of Booking A Call

Nobody talks much about this, but what happens when they book a call? If you have an email flow that’s well-crafted and text reminders set up on your Calendly, it looks really professional. Plus, it takes 5 minutes to set up.

Send them your best content all in a row via email. Then, have a rep reach out to them personally before the call to express their excitement and interest. It’s all about doing business with someone who is professional and likable.
