End of the year

I'm sure you feel the same as I often do in December.

As a business owner, you set lofty goals back in Q1, now looking at only 20 more days to complete them.

It's normal to fall behind on your goals - or get off track.

Especially business targets, where some factors are outside your control.

Here is the one thing we have to be careful of though.

My Q4 goal was to sign 4 more retainer clients at $3k+ per month each.

I'm halfway done with that goal.

One client for $3k per month.

Another for $4k per month.

Now, I'm looking at 20 days to get the other two.

I have a few options:

  • Get discouraged because I'm "off track" and it's crunch time, then give up.

  • Become satisfied with the two I landed and coast until 2024.

  • Use the last 20 days to push even harder and beat the goal.

Even without beating the goal, option 3 is the only real option.

Yes, I should feel satisfied with two, but four is what I set out to land.

So if I end 2024 partially giving up on that initial goal…

What kind of tone does that set for 2024?

I know a lot of folks - myself included - postpone goals until the new year.

Or pull a justification and say... "Ahh... I'll just get to it on January 1st."

But that sends the wrong message to your subconscious mind to quit.

Don't you agree?

Let's close out the year strong.
