What Is Generative AI?

Generative AI is commonly described as “artificial intelligence that creates content from single promts and context.” This is the tip of the iceberg, but entrepreneurs are already using it to increase profit and efficiency.

From creating content plans, to coding foundational websites, to creating contracts, generative AI tools are going to be useful in the future. While some of the information it spits out is incredible, some of it can be nonsense.

Getting Quality Info From ChatGPT

ChatGPT is the leading generative AI model at the moment, recently releasing their GPT-4 version and an IOS app. However, the prompt is where the magic is made. Without great prompt-writing skills, you’ll struggle to get great results.

First, you can tell the model to behave a certain way. An example of this would be something like, “act as an expert data analyst.” Next, once ChatGPT gives you an initial answer, you can push it to improve. You must give specific feedback, whether that be structural or conceptual. 🧠 

Then, you can iterate on a response ChatGPT gives. Tell the model to teach you how to ask it better questions that will improve the response. Adapt and ask those questions to improve the result. Finally, you can edit the final product for finishing touches, rather than doing so yourself. If you’re creating content, ask it to edit for grammar — or even re-write in a different tone of voice. If you’re assembling code, tell it to clean up the block of code so it’s shorter.

In an interview with Sam Altman of OpenAI, he claims the most important skill needed to survive in an AI-dominated future is adaptability. AI will not slow down whether you like it or not. You must adapt as much as you can. Using AI is smarter than sitting idle on the sidelines.
