The Only 3 Ways to Get Customers

Having a great product or service isn’t enough. Especially if nobody knows about it.

There are only 3 ways to get more customers:

  1. Outbound

This is one-to-one marketing, from in-person events to cold email and cold LinkedIn. Even warm outreach is still considered outbound.

  1. Content

When you release a piece of content and people reach out to you because of it, that’s considered inbound traffic. Content is the second way to get customer attention and make sure the know about your stuff.

  1. Ads

Finally, you can pay for attention. Or rent it from the ad platforms. Whether it’s a billboard or a Facebook ad, direct advertising is when you pay $X for X impressions, clicks, or leads.

Between these three options, it’s best to choose one until you master it. Outbound requires the least capital. Content produces the highest output, but has the most delayed results. Ads require the most capital but produce a great deal of consistency.

The real key: You should NOT mix all three together until you get just one of them working. And working well.

Spend your days as the founder (1) making ads, (2) making content, or (3) doing outbound. This is how you make your business grow. Keep it simple!
